If you buy at B&H online and live outside New York you don't have to pay sales tax, so buying local does have that added expense, but buying local also gives you a close place to go back to if you have questions or issues with the equipment.
Here in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex, I have a local place like that in Arlington Camera and that's where I bought my E620. Great people to deal with. If you have such a place, I would check them out. Otherwise, online sites like B&H, Adorama and Newegg are hard to beat. Amazon can be OK as long as you have done your homework and know approximately what you should be paying for an item and avoiding anything that strays too far above (or below) that price.
